Surge in motorbike sales

The registration figures for two-wheelers have responded positively to the longer days and better weather, reports the Motor Trade Association. Whether new or used, over-60cc bikes or scooters, registrations of all types of motorcycles have increased. New motorcycle registrations for October were up by 21 per cent on last year – 762 units compared to 631 in 2013: 631 units. They are also up by nine per cent year to date – 6,122 units compared to 5,624 by this time last year. The used imported market went up by 49 per cent on last October – 251 units compared to 168 units. The year-to-date total of 1,722 is up by 32 per cent by this time in 2013’s total of 1,303.
