Holden searches for owner

Posted on 29 October, 2014

A nationwide search is under way for the first Kiwi to own a Holden. The first FJ was imported in 1954 and, as the marque celebrates 60 years, it wants to find its original customer. Managing director Jeff Murray says: “Without the modern luxuries of databases and barcodes, the owner is a mystery. To share this story would be a fitting first chapter to Holden’s shared history with New Zealanders. “We encourage people to come forward if they know someone or have any information about the first person to buy the first FJ in November 1954.” As a reward for helping to find the first Holden owner, the company is offering a trip for two to Martinborough in the Waiarapa for the best lead.
