Rare cars auctioned at Paris show

A line-up of sought-after, rare and classic cars will be going under the hammer at the Paris Motor Show. The Paris show, Mondial de L’Automobile, is the largest motor show in the world, attracting more than 1.2 million people in 2014. This year, the show is turning its focus away from diesel engines to look at all-electric and hybrid options. International auctioneers Coys, in association with Coutau-Bégarie, has put together a section of the most sought-after and iconic classic, modern and sports cars for its exclusive show auction on 8 October. Coys is very excited to be at the Paris Motor Show, which is open to the public from October 1 to 16, CEO Chris Routledge says. “France is one of the most important countries in terms of motoring heritage and presence in the historic car world.” Highlights from the auction include:

  • 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Type L. The first Dino delivered and registered in France and 11th Dino ever made. Estimated at NZ$490,000 to NZ$540,000.
  • 1926 Bentley 3 litre Short Chassis Sports Tourer. Includes original chassis and original 3L engine. Estimated at NZ$650,000 to NZ$690,000.
  • 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo S ‘Sonauto’. The seventh car of just 10 produced worldwide. Estimated at NZ$800,000 to NZ$860,000.
  • The ‘Enzo Ferrari Film’ 1973 Ferrari 365 GT4. Heavily featured in the 2003 film Ferrari. Estimated at NZ$92,000 to NZ$120,000.
  • 2009 Tesla Roadster ‘Signature Edition’. The first European-delivered Tesla. Estimated at NZ$85,000 to NZ$100,000.
  • 1931 Cadillac Fleetwood Drophead Coupe. Liveried in real 23-carat gold leaf and believed to have once belonged to the flamboyant pianist Liberace. Estimated at NZ$120,000 to NZ$140,000.
  • 1990 Lamborghini Countach Anniversary. Had one owner for 25 years and has less than 400 miles (644km) on the clock. Estimated at NZ$500,000 to NZ$560,000.
  • 2004 Porsche Carrera GT. One of the “greatest supercars of all time” and has done 1722 miles (2770km) from new. Estimated at NZ$1,000,000 to NZ$1,080,000.
  • Charity lot for a young boy whose parents were killed by a terrorist in Magnanville, France in June. The one-off package includes luxury accommodation and two Ultra-VIP passes for the 24 hours of Le Mans 2017 from Automobile Club de l'Ouest. No reserve.
