Ranger in the lead

Posted on 01 May, 2015

New Zealand’s number-one ute in 2014, the Ford Ranger, continues to be Kiwis’ favourite this year by opening the gap on Toyota’s Hilux. According to provisional sales figures, the Ranger was the top-selling ute during April with 487 registrations. Its nearest competitor – the Hilux – trails by more than 100 units year to date. “We are, of course, heading into a busy and highly competitive time for the ute market with Fieldays coming up, so it’s great to see more people choosing the Ranger,” says Corey Holter, managing director of Ford NZ. The marque is positioned to extend the Ranger’s success across its other lines with new models being introduced this year. “We are launching a record number of new vehicles in 2015 in almost every segment each with stunning new designs, exciting performance and smart new technologies – some of which have never been seen in New Zealand before,” says Holter. “Whether you’re looking for a new vehicle, just interested in new vehicles or you’re the competition, Ford is the one to watch in 2015.” So far in 2015, Ford NZ has introduced the Falcon XR8 and XR6, Territory, Mondeo, and Focus ST and its the Focus Trend Wagon. These will soon to be followed by the rest of new Focus range, Everest – a brand seven-seat and four-wheel-drive SUV – and Ranger before the Mustang arrives on these shores by the end of the year.
