Range Rover announces new SUV

Posted on 22 February, 2017

Range Rover New Zealand have included the Range Rover Velar to the 2017 collection. The Velar will be fully revealed on March 2 and on display the Geneva Auto Show. The Velar nameplate dates back to the very first Range Rover prototype built in 1969, coined by project engineers to disguise the pre-production Range Rovers during development. Land Rover chief design officer Gerry McGovern dubbed the Velar the “avant-garde Range Rover.” With a broad glass roof and slightly smaller cabin, the Velar will sit between the Evoque and Sport in the Range Rover line-up. Range Rover emphasised the use of sustainable materials, pioneering consumer technology and advanced engineering, while not releasing major details on the car. Further specifications are expected with the car’s official debut in March. The Velar will arrive on New Zealand shores in the fourth quarter, according to Range Rover New Zealand. Details on price are forthcoming.
