Nissan tests car-sharing
Nissan will run a pilot version of its car-sharing programme in Paris later this year, reports CNET. The Intelligent Get & Go Micra programme will use data analytics to group users based on “complementary driving needs”. Pricing will be based on how much the car is used. Nissan plans to use its new Micra compact car for the programme. The trial is meant to be digitally run, from invoicing to securing the vehicle. Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of Nissan, said in a statement: “We are moving toward a future where car usage may be more flexible, social and shared. At Nissan, we're pioneering new ways to allow drivers to enjoy the freedom and financial benefits of shared car ownership.” Nissan joins other marques in testing car-sharing, including BMW and Toyota, as well as Audi, which recently rolled out its pilot programme in North Carolina.
