New Subaru XV revealed

Posted on 14 February, 2017

The latest Subaru XV will debut at the Geneva Auto Show next month, with new images recently published by the Japanese press. The 2017 XV was previewed as a concept car last year, and featured new bumpers and tall roof racks to emphasise its SUV capabilities. New magazine photos show front and rear skid plates, a higher ride height, and alloy wheels. The Japanese magazine claimed the XV would offer two powertrain options in its domestic market – a 1.6-litre petrol generating 86kW of power and a larger 2.0-litre petrol producing 115kW. The latter engine currently powers the new Impreza, and is available with either six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. The Subaru XV will go on sale in Japan this year, according to reports, with further details of an international launch reserved for the Geneva Auto Show.
