MTA northern recognises excellence

Members of the MTA Northern Region have recognised excellence within the sector with a range of awards. Categories for award included best general repairer, best motorcycle dealer, best service station, best after market, best new and used car dealerships and more. The awards were presented at an event at the Auckland Museum on 23 September with the new Mercedes Benz Botany dealership taking out the top prize, which was accepted by Dealer Principal Jeremy Spicer. More than 3,000 people voted for the businesses they felt had given them great service, and the finalists were also carefully inspected by a panel of judges, who had the final word on winners. MTA chair of the Northern Region Geoff Harper said the interest from businesses in the awards was very high. “There’s been huge investment by businesses, particularly dealers and independent workshops in presenting themselves in the best possible light. It made it hard to narrow down the finalists.” MTA Chief Executive Craig Pomare congratulated all the winners and said “All MTA members work hard to meet our standards and ensure customers get great service. It is great to see that this pays off in public accolades.” Here’s the full list of winners from the event: General Repairer Northern - less than 5 staff - STR Automotive  General Repairer Southern - less than 5 staff -Marcus Motors  Best Motorcycle Dealership - Cyclespot  Best Specialist Provider - Alltech Best Service Station - Z Glenpark  General Repairer Northern - more than 5 technicians - Auto Super Shoppe Albany General Repairer Southern - more than 5 technicians - Auto Super Shoppe Mayne Collision Repairers - Evans European Best After Market – Repco, Warkworth  Best Marketing - VTNZ  Best Franchise Dealership - Mercedes Benz Botany Best Used Car Dealership- Pearce Brothers High Quality Vehicle Centre  Supreme Winner: Mercedes Benz Botany Winning Apprentice Collision Repair: Abner Apineru, Auckland Panel and Paint City branch Winning Apprentice Automotive: Anton Hamelmann, Giltrap Audi
