Mitsubishi NZ in recall

Posted on 04 July, 2016

Mitsubishi New Zealand has announced a recall of vehicles due to a headlight fault. Stuff.co.nz has reported that 27,000 vehicles across the Lancer, Outlander, Pajero MiEV and Triton ranges are part of the recall. There has been a more significant recall in Australia, across 500,000 vehicles, but Daniel Cook, head of sales and marketing at Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand says the issues are different. “For us here in New Zealand, the issue is the headlight switch. There is potential for minor oxidisation on a terminal for the switches and that could hinder connectivity.” The years of manufacture are around 2007-2015. “The specific models affected vary by years. We will be notifying all the registered owners of the affected vehicles,” says Cook. “We will start that process shortly. The repair will take about 38 minutes and I understand it requires a small amount of grease being applied to the switch.”
