MINI opens dealership

Posted on 28 July, 2014

The southern hemisphere’s largest MINI dealership site has opened in Newmarket, Auckland. MINI Garage hosted a VIP evening on Friday attended by more than 250 people, including Vicki Treadell, the British High Commissioner to New Zealand. Representatives from BMW Group Australia, including managing director Phil Horton and MINI general manager Kai Bruesewitz, were also there. Guests enjoyed English-themed drinks and nibbles and were entertained by tributes acts including The Beatles, Sir Elton John and Austin Powers. Nina Englert, managing director of BMW Group NZ, says: “After two moves in the past two years, MINI has arrived at its new home. “Midway between the shopping precinct of Broadway and close to the vehicle sales end of Great South Road, it offers great motorway access, good parking and will put MINI on the map. It features two eye-catching wall-mounted MINI shells, a design element that captures your attention. “This will become a focus for ‘MINIacs’ of all ages and I’m certain it will contribute to the long-term success of MINI here. This dealership will be a hub of activity and a welcoming home away from home for owners. “Sales of new models have gone from strength to strength in New Zealand, culminating with more than 500 new MINIs sold here last year.”
