Mercedes making a move

Posted on 26 May, 2016

Mercedes is on the charge in China’s luxury car market, dramatically closing the sales gap on Audi and BMW. Last year saw Mercedes grow sales by 33 per cent. This is in stark contrast to Audi (a drop of 1.4 per cent) and BMW (an increase of 1.7 per cent). The crossover market has been a factor in Mercedes’ success, with the GLA and GLC models, but a major player has been management board member Hubertus Troksa. He merged their two dealership channels and expanded the dealership network. Along with the GLA and GLC, it has become a perfect storm of success in recent years. In Europe there is more parity between the three brands, while in the US Audi is on the charge, closing the gap on its other major rivals.
