McLaren unveils racing drivers

Come Ledogar has been confirmed as McLaren GT’s new factory driver for the year. Ledogar, who previously won the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2014, will contest the Blancpain Endurance Series behind the wheel of a 650S GT3. Rob Bell and Alvaro Parente are back for another year with the marque, and will next compete at Tekno Autosports for the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour. Bell will then go on to compete in Europe with the 650S GT3 in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Blancpain Sprint Series. Andrew Kirkaldy, managing director of McLaren GT, says: “'The 2016 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting – and challenging – so far with more cars racing in more championships across the world. “With the combination that our factory line-up offers along with the talent in our Driver Academy, we are hoping for another good year”. The marque’s recently announced McLaren GT Driver Academy has also been boosted with Colin Thompson signing on for the 2016 season. He is the fourth driver to join the academy, alongside Alex Fontana, Struan Moore and Andrew Watson. Thompson will join Alvaro Parente as part of the K-PAX Racing/Flying Lizard Motorsports two-car line-up in the Pirelli World Challenge.
