Marque recalls 45,000 cars

Posted on 20 April, 2015

Nissan is expanding an investigative recall in certain parts of the US to replace airbags made by Takata Corporation that are fitted in about 45,000 Sentras from the 2004-2006 model years. The marque says it will replace passenger-side airbags of the effected vehicles. Bloomberg reports the expansion of the call-back follows an incident on March 21 in which a woman in Louisiana was injured from shrapnel in her 2006 Nissan Lantra. Since 2006, nearly a dozen car manufacturers have recalled more than 25 million vehicles equipped with potentially deadly Takata-made airbag inflators.
