Latest Bugatti Chiron launches

Posted on 28 March, 2017

The next-generation Bugatti Chiron has officially launched in Portugal, with the first customer orders in the limited production run of 500 being delivered worldwide this month. The hypercar is touted as the most powerful ever seen in a production car, with an 8.0-litre W16 engine producing a massive 1103kW and 1600Nm of torque matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The top speed has been electronically limited to 420km/h, and while 0-100km/h takes 2.5 seconds, on par the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Tesla P100Ds. The Chiron, however, reaches 0-200km/h in just 6.5 seconds with its 8-litre engine, beating out top-tier hypercars such as the Hennessey Venom GT, the McLaren P1 and the Koenigsegg One:1. Expectant owners will have to shell out for the limited-edition hypercar, with a retail price of around $4.2 million. 70 examples of the Bugatti Chiron have been sold so far.
