Isuzu comes out top

Isuzu NZ has now achieved 15 consecutive years as this country’s number-one brand for heavy commercials. It achieved 878 registrations in 2014 for a 20 per cent market share.

General manager Colin Muir says that it’s with a sense of pride the marque can say its trucks have led registrations in New Zealand for one-and-a-half decades.

“They have a reputation for being cost-effective to buy and we’ve been able to provide great options for small and large businesses,” he says. “We take pleasure in being able to assure customers they will not only get excellent back-up and service from our dealers, but also from our authorised service outlets.

“Many people have been involved in helping with the success of Isuzu trucks since 1999 and we still take our market leadership seriously. Our customers have shown great loyalty over the years.”

In 2014, Isuzu was number one for light-truck sales with more than 35 per cent of all registrations with 3,500kg-9,000kg gross vehicles mass (GVM) and medium-truck sales with more than 24 per cent of all registrations in the 9,001kg-23,000kg GVM segment.

It came third in sales of heavy trucks with more than 10 per cent of all registrations in the 23,001kg-plus GVM category.

Product options for this year include four new Allison Automatic Medium trucks, Euro V Giga Trucks with the range increasing from 11 to 18, new or reintroduced Gigas with manual and AMT transmissions, and the LT434-P rear engine Bus chassis.
