Futuristic Concept-i

If you didn't think the concept of having a car like 'Kitt' from Knight Rider would ever become a reality, think again! Toyota has recently revealed the Concept-i, a vehicle that comes with an artificial intelligence system called 'Yui' which is designed to build a relationship with the driver. The Concept-i can measure both the driver's emotions and attention, as well as the road conditions and geographic locations surrounding the vehicle, thanks to sensors. "At Toyota, we recognise that the important question isn't whether future vehicles will be equipped with automated or connected technologies," said Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota. "It is the experience of the people who engage with those vehicles. Thanks to Concept-i and the power of artificial intelligence, we think the future is a vehicle that can engage with people in return." Much like the talking car of the 80s, the Concept-i can communicate with its driver by displaying messages such as "Hello" on its bodywork.
