VINZ CEO resigns

Posted on 25 July, 2014

VINZ has announced the resignation of Frank Willett, chief executive officer, for personal reasons with effect from August 1. “Frank has been an integral part of VINZ for more than six years,” says Damon Jackson, a director of VINZ. “He will be missed by staff and customers. We wish Frank all the best in the next phase of his career.” The company says it’s grateful for Willett’s leadership over a long period, which has included guiding it through internal changes from being a co-operative to being investor based and finally a privately owned company. He has also overseen changes in response to the Vehicle Licensing Reform. Gordon Shaw has been appointed acting CEO while VINZ starts recruiting for a full-time replacement. His first day in his interim role will be July 28. Shaw held a senior management position in the government sector before starting a career as an independent consultant. He has completed assignments in the regulatory inspection sector and used to be a senior manager with the NZTA, which was formerly the Land Transport Safety Authority.
