Dealership scoops sales award

Posted on 22 April, 2014

Wanganui Motors has been presented with two awards by Ford NZ for its successful sales year in 2013. Dealer principal Mark Quirk and Murray O’Hara, head of new vehicle sales, have received the marque’s new vehicle sales and distinguished achievement awards on behalf of their team. Quirk says the awards are indicative of the business’ excellent performance in new vehicle sales, new parts sales and customer service. Wanganui Motors achieved an almost 100 per cent increase in new vehicle sales through 2013 by selling sold 91 new cars compared with 50 in 2012 while Ford NZ’s market share increased by three per cent. He believes the rising trend reflected by the awards potentially indicate the start of a brighter future in automotive retailing. “This rate of growth is unusual and indicative of a steadily growing economy,” he told the Wanganui Chronicle. “Confidence is growing among small-business owners, you can feel it. In what is a competitive national market, Wanganui punches well above its weight. We’re a family-owned business and love being a core part of the local economy.”
