Corolla to get upgrade

Posted on 20 April, 2015

Toyota has released a new version of the top-selling Corolla in Japan where it’s known as the Auris. It features a turbo-charged petrol engine and a new safety package. The compact hatchback also features exterior and interior updates first seen on the European-specification model at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The turbo-charged Auris is designed to help Toyota compete with rivals, such as Volkswagen’s Golf. Toyota says the gives the Auris 120T a performance equivalent to that of a vehicle with a 1.8-litre engine. The new Auris line-up also includes 1.5-litre and 1.8-litre models without a turbo engine. It goes on sale in Japan in June.
