This year’s CRC Speedshow will be blessed with some of New Zealand’s most historic vehicles, dubbed “HRC Memory Lane” The event at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds on July 17-18 will be celebrating members of Kiwi motorsport folklore, with a mix of 20 hand-picked race cars and race bikes from yesteryear. Dating back to 1923 right up until today, each car has been hand-picked by a team of racing experts, including HRC Events manager Chris Watson. Among those selected is the 1915 STUTZ Indianapolis 500 Special Race car, imported into New Zealand in 1923 and raced in many events at Muriwai Beach races and winning the NZ Cup outright in 1926, 1927 and 1928 when owned by Bob Wilson. The “Memory Lane” will look at circuit racing, speedway, drag racing, motorcycling and rally. The cars will return to garages around the country after the show, so visitors are encouraged to take as many pictures as possible. HRC Events is also behind the Festival of Motor Racing.
