Auckland City BMW opening new dealership

Posted on 26 May, 2017

A new BMW dealership is set to open in south-east Auckland next year, BMW New Zealand has announced. The site will be located on Te Irirangi Drive, and is due to be completed in the second half of 2018. The location is near some of Auckland’s fastest-growing suburbs, including Flat Bush, East Tamaki, Pakuranga, Papakura, Karaka and Bombay. The facility will include a fully automated digital experience with the latest point-of-sale technology. “We are very pleased to have the new dealership in East Auckland being announced today, and the opportunity to increase our presence for BMW in a rapidly growing part of the city”, says Auckland City BMW Dealer Principal Ian Gibson.  “The new dealership will give us ample space for displaying the entire model range, whilst continuing to deliver an outstanding customer experience.  We currently have nearly 500 customers living in the area and will be well placed to provide even more personalised, local service”. The current Auckland City BMW dealership is located on Great South Road in Newmarket, with a separate MINI Garage operating in Broadway. The dealership was last refurbished in May 2015, and last month received an award from BMW New Zealand for outstanding service in 2016. "We have been thinking about how we can improve our offering and at the same time make life a bit easier for customers and our own staff that are struggling with travel times," Gibson told Autofile last month. The site of the new dealership is a close drive to the Southern Motorway. BMW Group New Zealand managing director, Florian Renndorfer said it was prudent to update dealership facilities, given BMW’s future plans worldwide. “With a high number of new models coming to market over the next few years it is extremely important we are future-proofed with the design and space requirements to accommodate tremendous growth”, he said. The dealership is jointly owned by dealer principal Ian Gibson and Collins Asset Management.
