A worthy Hommage

Unveiled at the Villa d’Este car show in Italy, the M2-based 2002 Hommage concept is a tribute to the BMW 2002 Turbo. Celebrating the brand’s heritage, this new M2 Coupe is a modern spin on the Turbo’s unique design. “Exactly 50 years ago, the 02 range kick-started an era of success for BMW,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice-president of BMW Group Design. “This compact coupe is one of the vehicles which made the brand what it is today.” There are already lengthy waiting lists for the two-door model, which rides on the same wheelbase and with the same engine as the M2 Coupe. Its deep front splitter is shaped by three large air intakes, with oversided front and rear wheelarch bulges and 20-inch wheels and tyres.
