4C named best in class
Set to arrive in New Zealand next year, Alfa Romeo’s 4C has been named as the best performance and luxury car by the Motor Authority website in the US. “The 4C is beautiful, exotic and incredibly fun to drive,” says editor Nelson Ireson. “It’s also tremendous value offering a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and turbocharged mid-engine layout around the price of much more ordinary sports cars.” The 0-100kph sprint takes 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 255kph. Thanks to its 895kg advanced engine and transmission technology, the 4C’s combined-cycle fuel economy is 5.6l/100km with CO2 emissions of 157g/km. Reid Bigland, head of Alfa Romeo in North America, says: “The 4C shifts the performance paradigm by offering driving enthusiasts the passion and exhilaration of an Italian supercar crafted by hand from F1-inspired materials.”
